The light breaks through the leaves
The moon stares at me from the sky,
I am alone.
My breath carries on the air,
My hand shakes,
Streetlights light up the road.
Voices cut the silence of the night.
Youth, stumbling past houses,
Holding on to friends
To find the way home.
I watch, slowly as they struggle,
For words and balance.
Laughing, screaming,
Together,
But I,am Alone.
Cars whiz by, lights flickering
Their engines, humm to the cold air
They come and go
As do many
Whom I know
They come and they go
But I, am alone.
The light breaks through the leaves
The moon stares at me from the sky,
I am alone.
My breath carries on the air,
My hand shakes,
Streetlights light up the road.
Voices cut the silence of the night.
Youth, stumbling past houses,
Holding on to friends
To find the way home.
I watch, slowly as they struggle,
For words and balance.
Laughing, screaming,
Together,
But I,am Alone.
Cars whiz by, lights flickering
Their engines, humm to the cold air
They come and go
As do many
Whom I know
They come and they go
But I, am alone.
